Investigators suspect arson in Oroville house fire

Officials are saying arson is to blame for a fire that destroyed a vacant home in Oroville Tuesday morning.

The El Medio Fire Department, along with the Oroville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1946 Greenville Street just after 5 a.m.

According to the El Medio Fire Department, the flames started in one of the home's front rooms and spread through the rest of the house. The structure is considered a complete loss.

Investigators say the home was abandoned, but found evidence somebody had started the blaze and have ruled arson as the cause.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call the El Medio Fo9re Department.
