The Butte County Sheriff's Office confirmed with Action News Now that there was a shooting in Berry Creek just after 8 P.M. Monday night.

The shooting happened at a home on Simpson Ranch Road. According to a sergeant on scene, the home owner called 9-1-1 to report that a man was harassing him. He called a second time to say the man kicked in his door and the two were fighting at the time.

When deputies arrived on scene they found the two men on the porch. The intruder had been shot twice, but was reportedly still on his feet.

It is believed the man who was shot was flown to Enloe Medical Center, but neither the hospital nor Sheriff's Office will confirm this.

It's not clear what the dispute was about or what the intruder may have been seeking. The investigation continues. So far no arrest has been made.

We will bring you more information as it develops.
