A man serving a prison sentence for robbery and drug possession at a North State conservation camp was captured Tuesday following his escape days earlier, officials said.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Daniel Fidler, 42, just after 9 a.m. Officials say he was a passenger in a pickup traveling from Horse Creek to Redding.

Earlier in the morning the sheriff’s office received a call reporting a man matching Fidler’s description was a passenger in a pick-up traveling along Highway 96.

Fidler escaped from Deadwood Conservation Camp Saturday and is believed to have stolen a pickup moments later.
