Josey Hardwick is in bed, recovering from an alleged drunk driving accident. He describes his condition as "sore, and in pain," through clenched teeth. He works for Wimberly Taxi off Oro Dam Boulevard. Hardwick says Monday night, he had just gotten off work when he was hit by an alleged drunk driver on Oro Dam Boulevard as he was turning off 12th Street. One witness says he saw the man, driving a black Mercedez-Benz, doing donuts in the parking lot of one bar, and get kicked out of another bar, both on Oro Dam. A short time later, that's when Hardwick says he was hit at more than 60mph. Hardwick says most cab drivers will give an intoxicated person a lift, for free, to prevent accidents. Oroville Police say they're still working on the accident report, and could not release any details on the accident. At last check, the alleged drunk driver was severely injured, and in a coma.
