Well above average temperatures, and the potential for active weather are ahead for your Thursday forecast. Temperatures have dipped into the mid to high 70's for the valley overnight, and into the mid 50's to high 60's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the high 90's to around 108 degrees in the valley, and mountain areas can expect temperatures to be in the 97 to 108 degree range late in the day. More moisture heading up from the South will give the region the potential for thunderstorms developing in the mountains and light precipitation in the valley. The chance for thunderstorms will leave the region with higher fire danger over the next few evenings. Winds will be out of the South to around 10mph.
Temperatures will slowly, but surely cool over the next several days, with valley areas falling into the mid 90's to low triple digits for your 4th of July. The potential for mountain thunderstorms will persist over the next 3 evenings. Temperatures will finally cool down to around average for this time of year towards the middle of next week. Please stay safe in the heat, and be cautious with the higher fire danger ahead for the region. I hope everyone has a great Thursday!
