Authorities say Oregon State Police shot and killed a man who was wanted in the slaying of a woman in Siskiyou County.

Police in Yreka said they got a report of a possible homicide Wednesday, and found 34-year-old Erika Lemere dead in her home.

Yreka police identified 32-year-old Kaleb Landon as a suspect and Oregon State police located him in Sunny Valley, about 15 miles north of Grants Pass.

Northbound traffic on Interstate 5 in southern Oregon was blocked for five hours late Wednesday and early Thursday following the officer-involved shooting. On a hot summer night, cars and trucks were pulled over for miles in a region where the freeway winds through mountain passes.
