MIAMI (AP) - Hurricane Vance is maintaining its strength in the Pacific off Mexico's coast.

The hurricane's maximum sustained winds remain near 105 mph. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Vance could strengthen a little more later today, but is expected to start weakening tonight.

The hurricane is centered about 505 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving northwest near 14 mph.

The Hurricane Center says swells generated by Vance are expected to begin affecting parts of Mexico's southwestern coast and Baja California in a day or two. Those swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
