SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A Humboldt County judge has been reprimanded for failing to issue timely decisions in 20 cases and lying on affidavits that claimed he was up to speed with his work.

The Commission on Judicial Performance admonished Judge Dale Reinholtsen on Thursday for misconduct.

The commission says Reinholtsen falsified salary affidavits seven times that claimed he did not have any decisions pending more than 90 days.

The judge received his salary in violation of a law that requires paychecks be withheld until overdue work is completed.

The commission says Reinholtsen was presiding judge of the court in 2013 and 2014 and could have delegated some of his work to other judges.

Reinholtsen was disciplined in 2002 for a one-year delay in a case.

A call to his attorney wasn't immediately returned.
