Humboldt County Forest Service Officer Injured by Suspect Vehicle

A U.S. Forest Service Officer is listed in stable condition at a Redding Hospital after being hit by a suspect vehicle during a pursuit in Humboldt County.
Shasta County Sheriff's detectives were notified of a pursuit in progress involving a Silver Jeep Liberty on the 28000 Block of Highway 36, just before 9:00 Saturday night.
They reported an officer was injured and shots were fired by USFS Officers at the suspect vehicle.
CHP units, Sheriff’s Deputies and Fortuna Police responded to assist. CHP Officers located the suspect vehicle and eventually disabled it in the area of mile post marker 28, where the suspect fled on foot into nearby brush. He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities haven’t said why he was being pursued in the first place.
