(UPDATE) 4:36 p.m.- The Glenn County Sheriff’s Department has identified the victims of last night’s house fire on the 400 block of Vine Street in Willows as 77-year-old Rafaela Valencia Bustos and 77-year-old Luis Espinoza Ceja, both of Willows. Action News Now will have a full report on this story tonight at 5 and 6 p.m.
Emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Vine Street in Willows at 11:46 p.m. last night in response to a house fire. After subduing the fire, The Glenn County Sheriff’s Department identified a deceased female within the residence.
A second victim, an adult male, was transported a local hospital and eventually sent to UC Davis Medical Center. The male victim died at UC Davis Medical Center earlier this morning.
The investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being headed by the Willows Police and Fire Departments, is ongoing, but Willows Police Chief Jason Dahl told Action News Now the cause of the fire is likely not arson, and appeared to be electrical in nature.
The Sheriff-Coroner’s Office is not releasing the names of the victims until next of kin is notified. Autopsies have been ordered to determine exact cause of death.
