It's going to be another extremely hot day across the north state, but high temperatures are projected to be a couple of degrees shy of Monday's.
We do have some moisture heading up from the south that could help to spark some thunderstorms in the higher elevations, and that is elevating the risk of fires across the region this afternoon. The valley will see temperatures climb to between 101 to 108 degrees, and mountain areas will have mid 90's to low triple digits.
There will be a very modest cool down ahead in your midweek forecast, but temperatures are expected to stay just slightly above average. The Fourth of July will be the coolest day of the extended period, with mid to high 90's expected for the valley. I hope everyone has found a good way to beat the heat, and has a great Tuesday!
