Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed today in the mountains, and a few rolled into the Valley. Future thunderstorms should stay in the mountains, while everyone will heat up this weekend!
Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed in the mountains today, and rotated around low pressure in central California westward... a few made it into the Valley, especially around the Chico area, after soaking Paradise and Magalia. As that low moves further away tomorrow, mountain thunderstorms won't have anything pushing them as efficiently, so they should stay in the higher elevations.
High pressure is set to strengthen, which will cause our high temperatures to heat up. The Valley should reach the 90's this weekend, and the north end of the Valley will top out near 100 early next week, before the ridge weakens a bit later on next week.
