We saw sunshine and hot weather on this toasty Tuesday! Look for more of the same over the next few days, but much cooler again by this weekend.
The combination of sunshine, high pressure, and a light north breeze in the Valley warmed us up a bunch today. Temperatures will warm even more tomorrow, and most Valley locations will be near 90 both Wednesday and Thursday.
High pressure will begin to weaken on Friday, in response to an incoming storm. This will allow us to cool some on Friday, while still enjoying sunshine.
The storm comes in Saturday, and models are taking it further south into far northern California today (yesterday, they were keeping it in Oregon). This will cool Valley temperatures down to the 70's for highs, and destabilize the atmosphere. That should trigger thunderstorms in the mountains (especially the Siskiyous & southern Cascades), along with a chance of a storm near the foothills... like Redding. I think it'll be dry south of Tehama County.
The storm leaves on Sunday, leaving us with a beautiful day. We'll warm back up a bit Monday and Tuesday, but long range models are still bringing a little bit of rain back for everyone by the end of next week... along with cooler weather yet again!
