High pressure returned on Tuesday, and so did our summertime heat. Valley highs were in the 90's in most areas, while Redding hit 100. Look for a bit of additional strengthening from high pressure over the next couple of days, which will lead to our high temperatures warming up just a little.
A trough of low pressure will swing through the Pacific Northwest this weekend, knocking our temperatures back down nicely for Saturday. That trough will also grab some leftover moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Marie currently in the Pacific off of Mexico, and bring it into the North State in the form of some high clouds both Friday and Saturday... but no rain. Temperatures will warm back up to near average by Labor Day.
