Hot, dry, and windy conditions will leave the north state with high fire danger for your Thursday. There is a Red Flag Warning in place for many areas of the north state until 5pm this evening due to those conditions. Valley temperatures are starting out in the mid 60's to mid 70's, and will climb into the 95 to 100 degree range this afternoon. Higher elevations are starting out in the mid 30's to mid 40's, and will climb into the 81 to 93 degree range later today.
Humidity values will be extremely low this afternoon, and will fall into the single digits for some areas of the valley. Winds will be strong throughout the day, but taper off this evening. Gusts up to 25mph are expected for the valley, with sustained winds to around 15mph out of the North. Mountain areas will have winds out of the Northeast up to around 15mph.
The hot temperatures will continue through the weekend, but fire danger will not be as critical over the next couple of days. Fire danger will continue to be high, but the Red Flag Warning is still set to expire this evening. I hope everyone is able to use extreme caution if you're lighting up the grill today, and has a great Thursday!
