Hot temperatures to start our week, and very little change coming Tuesday. We'll cool down later this week however, and there's even a chance of rain this upcoming weekend!
High pressure continues to dominate California, keeping our temperatures summerlike. Valley highs reached the lower and middle 90's on Monday, while our average highs for the middle of October are near 80. We'll roast again tomorrow, but high pressure will break down later this week, cooling us down. A weak disturbance to the south of us will spread some clouds over California, helping us cool down.
A weak storm from the north Pacific will move in on Saturday, and could bring us a few showers... although it won't be much. But we should definitely see some clouds and below-normal temperatures this weekend... finally!
October is traditionally our month of change, starting sunny and hot and finishing cool and a little wet. This October is looking right on target, as long range models are trying to break high pressure down later this month and bring in stormy weather. Nothing happening this week... but the last couple of weeks of October should see the hot weather pattern finally change.
