Tuesday was an even hotter day around northern California... and the heat goes on! More searing heat to finish off this week!
High pressure keeps strengthening, and our temperatures keep soaring. Tuesday saw highs in the triple digits in the Valley, with even more heat coming later this week as high pressure continues to strengthen. We've had a gusty north wind recently in the Valley, but that will subside by tomorrow afternoon... Although the Jarbo Gap winds should blow again tonight on the Ridge. If you're near the Feather River Canyon, you'll notice those gusty northeast winds in the early morning hours Wednesday.
High temperatures won't get too much hotter south of Red Bluff, because of an increasing Delta Breeze later this week. But in Shasta & Tehama counties, high temperatures will approach 110 by Thursday! The ridge will weaken this weekend, and temperatures will drop... but only a little.
Upper level southeast winds around high pressure will bring some monsoon moisture our way later this week, and could spark afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains both Friday and Saturday.
