Sunny skies, hotter temperatures, and lighter winds are ahead for your Friday forecast. Valley temperatures will climb into the mid 90's to low triple digits, while mountain areas will be in the high 80's to mid 90's.
Winds in the valley will be relatively light, with the strongest gusts only expected to reach 10mph out of the North. The lighter winds will help to mitigate fire danger for your Friday, but very dry conditions are also expected today.
We'll see a chance for active weather returning to the Northern Sierra on Sunday, as monsoonal moisture brings a chance of thunderstorms in the area early next week. Temperatures will stay at, or above average for your entire extended forecast.
I hope everyone stays safe in the heat, has a fantastic Friday, and a wonderful weekend!
