A horse farm in Glenn County has been getting alot of attention over allegations of neglect. The "Back in the Saddle Project" has been circulating emails and Facebook pictures of what appear to be starving horses to North State media outlets. Charlene Bladorn says these pictures show horses that belong to C Farms in Chrome, California, owned by Laura Christ. Bladorn says Christ has been more horses than she can care for, and many have starved to death. Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones says he has received at least three complaints from concerned citizens in the last year. He has assigned a sheriff's deputy to the case, and has had the 83 horses currently on Christ's property checked out by a Willows veterinarian, who gave them a clean bill of health. Jones says his office will continue to investigate, and several of the horses on her property are being given away in an effort to reduce the herd. Blardorn, however, says Christ will feed and water the horses when pressed, but once the spotlight fades, she'll continue to neglect the horses in her care. A woman claiming to be a former neighbor of the C Horse Farms says she's been watching the neglect for a while, and contacted Animal Control to complain, but nothing ever happened. Action News has made several attempts to contact Christ, but she has refused to comment.
