A Redding man found two transients inside his families’ vacant home on Eureka Way Thursday morning when he arrived to do some yard work on the property.
Brett Toler found two people in the home at 2100 Eureka Way just before 6:45 a.m. The man held the trespassers, who have been identified by police as transients, at gun point until officers could arrive on the scene.
Toler said he found a knife and drugs where the man and woman had been sleeping.
Gary Hemsted, the property owner, told us he has had a lot of issues with transients breaking into the home.
The Redding Police Department says break-ins to vacant homes is a growing problem in the area.
