A big voice, paired with big dreams.

28-year-old Christina Peoples is hoping for her big break.

"Just to be able to be mentored by a celebrity or even have one chair turn around, I would probably jump up and down and not even finish singing and be like, I'm done," she said.

The aspiring singer filmed her audition tape for "The Voice" at the Redding Civic Auditorium with a crowd of supporters cheering her on.

This one-in-a-lifetime opportunity is a break from Christina's daily life.

She's currently staying at the Good News Rescue Mission with her fiancee and 13-month-old daughter, while they struggle to get back on their feet.

"Singing's kind of like my therapy. When I feel upset or sad, I sing and I feel better. And you know it's just a bonus that I can do it for other people too," Christina said.

This is all thanks to one fan she's already made.

Christina met Redding photographer Nigel Skeet when she was featured as one of his "Homeless Rock Stars."

"I think she's a powerhouse. When she lets loose and she gets that confidence, she's going to rock the house," Nigel said.

And after today's top five worthy performance, Christina has already started to rack up the votes.
