Authorities in the North State are in the midst of breaking up what they said is a large auto theft operation that spans at least three counties.

On Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol, Butte County Sheriff’s Department and the Chico Police Department served a search warrant at a home off of Table Mountain Boulevard, just north of Oroville.

Two people were taken into police custody, and at least three suspected stolen vehicles were towed from the scene.

Officials say this bust is just a small part of a larger auto-theft and drug ring operation going on in Butte, Yuba and Sutter Counties.

Law Enforcement officials are expected to release more information on the tri-county operation during a press conference at the Yuba-Sutter CHP headquarters Tuesday afternoon.
