Chico's Hmong community has donated $10,000 to help replace the General Vang Pao statue that was vandalized in October.
Vandals broke the head off the stature and knocked it off its base. Hmong community leaders told city officials they will help with the replacement statue, but have asked for some changes, including its size and location.
The new statue location is the 4th Street side of City Hall, where it will face the council chambers.
The statue will cost the city about $32,000.
The City Council will vote to accept the $10,000 donation at Tuesday night's meeting.
