Hit-and-run leaves 11-year-old boy in serious condition

An 11-year-old boy is seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in the City of Shasta Lake Monday.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Craftsman and Bloomsbury Streets.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a black, late 2000’s Toyota Corolla hit the 11-year-old bicyclist and then drove him to his home, where neighbors removed the child from the car and told the driver they would take care of him.

The driver, described as, a middle aged woman of East Indian decent left without leaving her contact information, or reporting the incident to law enforcement.

The 11-year-old has been transferred to UC Davis where he is being treated for trauma to his head.
