A head-on collision on Highway 99 north of Chico shut down lanes and delayed traffic for more than hour Thursday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 99 just after 6:30 p.m. on Highway 99 near Nord-Cana Highway. Investigators say the driver of white Chevy S-10 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when he veered into oncoming traffic and clipped a Ford F-150 before colliding head-on with Ford Ranger.

A three drivers sustained minor to moderate injuries, which investigators say is incredible due to how fast the drivers were going when the accident happened.

The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation.
