One man is in police custody this morning after leading officers on a pursuit in Oroville with a stolen vehicle.
The suspect led two officers on a pursuit around four this morning in Oroville, crashing the car, causing it to be fully engulfed in flames.
The stolen car was first reported around midnight out of Gridley.
Oroville police spotted the car hours later at Town and Country Liquor on Highway 162, which was when they approached the vehicle and the driver sped off.
He led officers on a pursuit for about three miles, at speeds up to 70 MPH.
The pursuit ended at Oro Dam Blvd. and Glen Drive where the driver crashed the car off the bank and lost control.
The man was arrested and taken into custody.
There was also a passenger officers detained, but deemed that person was not involved in the incident, and let them go.
Police have not yet identified the driver nor determined how the car caught fire.
