High speed chase in Corning ends in arrest

Nicholas Kurt Hardwick was arrested on charges of felony hit and run, evading an officer and possession of a stolen vehicle after leading Corning Police and CHP officers on a high speed chase through Corning.

At approximately 9:42pm last night an officer observed a silver Ford Mercury Sable traveling on Rawson Road in the Corning area. The vehicle sped away upon seeing the officer’s patrol car and failed to pull over. The driver led CPD and CHP officers on a high speed pursuit through Corning and ended when the driver crashed into an unoccupied pickup truck near the Northern Lights Energy gas station located at 1800 Solano St. Hardwick was subsequently arrested and is being held for violation of his parole.

In addition to the stolen vehicle two laptop computers officers suspected of being stolen during a burglary reported earlier in the evening in Red Bluff were also recovered.
