A Redding robbery suspect was arrested early Tuesday morning after he led police on chase, reaching speeds of 120 mph.
A Redding Police Officer attempted to pull over a grey Saturn sedan near the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Hilltop Drive, but the driver, later identified as 28-year-old Michael Edward Cunningham refused to stop and turned onto northbound Interstate 5.
Cunningham then drove onto Highway 44 reaching speeds of 120 mph. The officer pursuing Cunningham fell back some, but saw Cunningham take the Shasta View Drive exit.
Cunningham then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Police sent K-9 officer Cain after Cunningham and he was arrested a short time later on Keylod Street.
Cunningham was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony evasion, resisting arrest and a robbery warrant.
