High-Speed Chase Ends in Redding

Police are searching for a gun fired during a high speed chase this morning.

Right now four people are in custody following the pursuit that started in Anderson and ended in Redding.

It all started with a report of a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Anderson Walmart.

"We saw four subjects get into the vehicle. At that point we tried to stop the vehicle before it took off," said Capt. Robert Kirvin from the Anderson Police Department.

But the driver refused to stop, and the car sped off north on Deschutes Road to Highway 299.

The wild pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and at one point a shot was fired from the suspect's vehicle.

The dangerous car chase ended near the Ridgewood Estates in Redding, but the incident was far from over.

A female suspect was immediately detained and placed in the patrol car.

She was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after telling officers that she's four months pregnant.

One of the suspects ran on foot into a nearby cul-de-sac and hid under somebody's deck.

After a search of the area, an additional three male suspects were taken into custody.
