High Fire Danger Returns To The North State

Sep 10, 2014 9:44 AM by Cort Klopping

Fire danger is increasing across the north state, as hot temperatures, low humidity values, and stronger winds return to the region. Temperatures will climb into the mid 90's to low triple digits for the valley, and into the mid 80's to mid 90's for the mountains. Winds are picking up, and valley locations will have gusts up to around 20mph out of the North, with sustained winds to around 10mph. Mountain winds will increase to around 15mph out of the Northeast. Lower than average humidity values will continue across the region, and could dip as low at 10 percent for your Wednesday. Please use extreme caution as you go about your daily routine through the weekend, as any fires that start could spread rapidly.
