High fire danger continues across the north state, as strong winds, and relatively low humidity values continue to prompt a Red Flag Warning for the Northern Sierra. Winds could gust up to 45mph for the higher peaks, with sustained winds to around 15mph. Humidity values will also continue to be dangerously low, with some areas dipping to around 15% humidity. That Red Flag Warning will continue through 8pm tonight. Gusty winds will also be a factor for the valley, but there has not been a warning issued there. Gust up to around 25mph out of the South, and dry conditions will continue to leave the valley with elevated fire danger this afternoon.
The fire danger will decrease over the next couple of days as the wet, and cooler conditions return to the north state. Widespread showers look to return to the region on Thursday.
