Grab your umbrella! Heavy rain is heading into the north state in your Tuesday forecast. Showers will arrive in the region over the next couple of hours, and will strengthen this afternoon. There will also be a chance of valley thunderstorms for this afternoon, and Wednesday afternoon. 1 to 2 inches of rain will be possible in the valley from the approaching system. Snow levels are expected to remain at or above 7000 feet from this system. Despite the high snow level, higher peaks could still have between 2 to 3 feet of snowfall over the next 3 days.
Temperatures are starting out in the low 50's for the valley, mid 30's to low 40's in the Northern Sierra, and mid to high 40's in the Northern Mountains. High temperatures are expected to be in the Mid to high 50's in the valley, and into the mid 40's to low 50's in the mountains.
Wet weather will continue into your Thursday forecast, with another chance for showers on Friday night. Dry conditions and slightly warmer temperatures are ahead for your weekend. Please make sure to be safe on the wet roads over the next few days, and have a great Tuesday!
