Many in the North State are gearing up to travel during the Fourth of July weekend.
And this high heat is making travel tough on many automobiles.
Gary’s Automotive in Chico has seen an overwhelming increase in business since the heat wave hit last week.
“The phones are ringing off the hook; especially with the weekend coming,” said Gary’s Automotive mechanic Patrick O’Shaughnessy. “Everybody wants to get out of town; but we can’t accommodate everybody.”
For those planning on traveling during this holiday weekend, mechanics advise staying off the road as much as possible.
But for those whose travel plans require long distance driving, they recommend getting a checkup first.
