It was a mild start to the week, with high temperatures well below average for this time of year... but that won't last. Look for high pressure to regain strength quickly, which will send Valley temperatures to near average for this time of year by Tuesday, and to near triple digits Wednesday and Thursday.
We'll cool it back down starting Friday and especially Saturday, as the remnants of Hurricane Marie move into the North State. An approaching trough of low pressure will aid in pulling that moisture on in, and also in cooling us down. This will turn our skies mostly cloudy and cooler by Saturday, with a stray mountain shower or thunderstorm possible. I think the most we'd see in the Valley is a sprinkle. The cloud cover should move east by Sunday, and we'll warm to near average temperatures for this time of year by Labor Day.
