It was hot today... and it's only going to get hotter! Some serious heat is heading our way this week.
The heat was on around the North State today, and with high pressure strengthening, our temperatures are only heading up. By Wednesday and Thursday, Valley highs will be in the 105 to 115 range, with the hottest temperatures in the north end of the Valley, near Redding. This very strong ridge will start weaken by Friday, allowing our temperatures to retreat some. It will still be hot on the 4th of July, but not as hot as the first couple of days of July.
Monsoon moisture will rotate around high pressure and to us later this week. That should spark some afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains. This moisture should get blown east into Nevada by this weekend, so we shouldn't see any fireworks from Mother Nature on the 4th.
It looks like we're going to get hot as a firecracker... on the first couple of days of July!
