Nice weather to finish off the week with, as high temperatures in the Valley were only around 90. A light delta breeze helped keep those temperatures comfortable (for August). Low pressure in Oregon was responsible for the delta breeze... as this low moves further east, we'll see a north wind develop in the Valley. That will cut off any cooling influence from the ocean, so our temperatures will warm back up to near average this weekend.
High pressure will strengthen a bit more next week, which will send our temperatures to near triple digits!
Something interesting to watch for late next week and next weekend is what happens to Hurricane Marie. Marie is currently off the west coast of Mexico, and should strengthen to a hurricane tonight. Long range models have been consistently bringing the remnants of then decaying Marie close to us late next week. If these models are correct, we could at least see some clouds then... It's something we'll be watching carefully the next few days.
