After months of hard work, the Chico State University Farm is celebrating the fruits of its labor.
The school farm hosted its Fall Harvest Day with an Organic Vegetable Project.
It all took place at the university farm and students guided tours, workshops, nutrition information seminars and cooking demos.
Chico State farmers say organic production is very important to the North State.
“Usually the local organic farmer is using pretty good ecological practices and are involved in the community,” said Chico State University Farm field manager Tina Candelo-Mize. “It’s important to support them in that.”
A majority of the vegetables available during this event were planted in April.
