WASHINGTON (AP) - California Attorney General Kamala Harris is working quickly in her bid for the U.S. Senate, already securing an endorsement from Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts just one day after entering the race.
Warren has quickly become a populist champion within the Democratic Party with her pointed criticism of Wall Street's influence in Washington.
Warren writes on her own campaign website that Harris has consistently stood up to Wall Street.
She praises Harris' efforts along with others to obtain a $20 billion settlement from some of the nation's biggest banks that, among other things, helped some homeowners refinance their mortgage or reduce the principal on their mortgage.
Several other top Democrats are also considering running for the seat, now held by Sen. Barbara Boxer.
