The Happy Camp fire complex in Siskiyou has now grown to 108,240 acres ... and is still just 50% contained.

The was started by lightning August 11th, and has destroyed four homes and four other structures.

Fire officials this morning said with low relative humidity, that they expected fuels to continue burning today within the perimeter of the fire, and the only anticipated growth was for the southern perimeter near Elk Creek.

Scott River Road is closed from south of the Post Office in Scott Bar to Indian Scotty Campground. The road is open to residents only between Hwy 96 and the Post Office.

Check www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/content/emergency-information for changes in evacuation orders.

Meanwhile, a Clean Air Respite Center is located at the Karuk Tribe Senior Nutrition Center at 64101 Second Avenue in Happy Camp. The center is open daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with extended hours when smoke conditions worsen. For detailed air quality information visit http://californiasmokeinfo.blogspot.com.
