The fire burning in Klamath National Forest has now burned 155 square miles and is 30 percent contained.
The fire broke out nearly four weeks ago and forced the evacuation of some 700 homes. The evacuation advisory has been lifted, but anyone traveling in the area should expect delays through parts of an 11-mile section from Hamburg to Horse Creek. Traffic may be stopped if conditions warrant. Scott River Road is closed from Hwy 96 to Bridge Flat.
An evacuation center is available at Winema Hall at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds in Yreka for evacuees. Large animals can be accommodated. For assistance with livestock evacuation, or for more information, please contact the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department at (530) 841-2900.
