Halloween Baking: Wicked Witch Cupcakes

If you're still getting treats together for Halloween festivities, we have some pointers for easy transformations.

Take a look at how to make Halloween cupcakes, compliments of Mim's Bakery in Chico:


Cupcake mix, frosting, pretzel sticks, white chocolate, red, orange and green candy food color and red candy glitter.

Begin with baking chocolate cupcakes. Once cooled, top with green frosting.

For witch feet: Mix melted white chocolate with orange food color. Dip ¼ of pretzel in orange-white chocolate mix, you need two for each cupcake. Put regular chocolate in a piping bag and drizzle over the remainder of the pretzels. Lay on parchment paper to dry.

For the shoes: Mix melted white chocolate with red candy coloring. Fill a piping bag with the red-chocolate mix. This will be used to design the shoes.

Pour red candy glitter onto a plate. With the piping bag, design small heart-shapes for the shoes (two for each cupcake). Glitter the top of each shoe. Let cool for five to 10 minutes in a refrigerator.

To assemble: Flip frosted cupcake at a 45 degree angle, stick pretzel sticks into frosting.
