Hundreds if people ran in Chico for a very special cause Saturday morning.
The annual Habitat for Humanity Home Run took place at Bidwell Park and more than 300 people ran to raise money.
All the money raised at this event went to Habitat for Humanity of Butte County which helps build homes for low-income families.
We spoke with a person who received a home from Habitat for Humanity and is now volunteering to help others do the same.
“Having a home and being a homeowner and being part of something so wonderful and having that self esteem of being part of something so great has made me a better person,” Mary Shippen.
The group's goal is to complete about two homes and four preservation projects in Butte County this year.
