From toppled trees to major dust storms, violent winds wreaked havoc all over Butte County Tuesday night.

In Chico, just before 7:30 p.m. a large branch from a big ornamental pistachio tree fell off onto White Avenue, just off of East Avenue. The tree was in front of a home and blocked White Avenue completely.

At 7:15 p.m., just blocks away, east of the Tinseltown Theater, a section of temporary fencing blew over, right onto three vehicles. Fortunately no injuries were reported.

In Oroville, a huge dust storm closed East Gridley Road for three hours around 6 p.m.

One minor accident occurred as a result of the dust, and no injuries were reported. It's believed the wind, combined with dust from a recently plowed field caused the storm.
