Cal Fire Officials say the fire burning near Bella Vista in Shasta County has burned 1300 acres and is 45 percent contained.
All evacuation orders and most road closures were lifted around noon Thursday, but Backbone Ridge Road through Seaman Gulch Road at Highway 299 as well as Revine Road are open to residents only.
On Friday firefighters will continue to increase containment lines and mop up.
Anyone traveling in the area is asked exercise caution because there continues to be a heavy presence of fire equipment in the area.
Investigators say the fire originally started around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when a vehicle caught fire on Backbone Road. The fire was four to six acres and reported as 80 percent contained late Wednesday morning, but a spot fire broke out around noon Wednesday spreading rapidly and forcing evacuations and road closures.
