Republican gubernatorial candidate Neel Kashkari is coming to Chico Sunday, hoping to make up some ground in the final days of the campaign, while Governor Jerry Brown plans to hold his final campaign rally in Williams on Saturday.

The latest polls show Governor Brown maintaining a commanding lead in his bid for an unprecedented fourth term.

A Field Poll released Thursday shows the Democratic incumbent leading Kashkari, 54 percent to 33 percent among likely voters.

Kashkari has been campaigning hard in the days leading up to the election and his visit to Chico will be another effort to get his still relatively unknown name and message out to potential voters.

Kashkari will hold a rally Sunday at the Butte County Republican Victory Headquarters at 1311 Mangrove Avenenue, Suite D. The event is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is free to the public, no RSVP required.
