Gravel spill slows Redding traffic

Traffic on southbound Interstate 5, near the Highway 44 interchange in Redding is moving slowly after a big rig spilled a load of gravel.

The spill happened at 10:39 a.m., and according to Caltrans, one lane is blocked, but traffic is still able to move through the area. No other vehicles were involved, and no injuries have been reported.

California Highway Patrol Officials say traffic should be back to normal by 12:45 p.m., and both CHP and Caltrans crews are on the scene cleaning up.
