The Willows Police Department is investigating a case in which a three-year-old child was left inside a car while a grandmother was shopping at the Willows Walmart last week.

The child is apparently OK. Action News is still waiting to talk to investigators to get more details.

But according to the daily police media log, the unnattended child was reported just before 1 p.m Thursday when the outside temperature was in the low 90s at the time. Soon after an officer arrived, the child was taken from the car. The grand mother, 70-year-old Janet Cox, apparently told the officer that she forget the grandchild was in the car.

Willows Police and Glenn County Child Protective Services are investigating. Cox faces a potential charge of child endangerment causing great bodily injury or death.
