Governor appoints 2 North State residents to state positions

Two North State residents have been appointed to state positions Governor Jerry Brown announced Tuesday afternoon.

Stewart Knox, of Vina, was appointed executive director of the Employment Training Panel and Charles Horne-Nutte, of Paradise, has been appointed to Area Board II of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities.

Knox, the director at the Nevada County Health and Human Services Agency has previously executive director for Yuba Community College and Colusa County Workforce Development from 1997 to 2004.

Horne-Nutt has been a care provider for the Butte County In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority since 1999. He is a member of the Statewide Self Advocacy Network.

Both positions do not require senate confirmation.
