Governor Jerry Brown is in Lake County at this hour, visiting fire crews battling the massive Rocky Fire.
Brown is thanking emergency responders, volunteers, and hundreds of state prisoners helping on the fire lines.
With dozens of fires raging across California the Governor said the state has spent more than 200-million dollars in the last two years on firefighting equipment and crews.
He went on to say how drought-stricken California is hotter and drier than ever, extending the fire season and making wildfires more severe, "the fires are changing. the drought over the last several years made everything drier. But, we know temperatures are going up."
The Rocky Fire is 40 percent contained and has so far charred more than 107 square miles. That's bigger than the city of Sacramento.
