WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama hasn't yet made the announcement today, but two Republican presidential candidates already are commenting on word that Obama will be traveling next month to Cuba.
Ted Cruz, whose father fled Cuba in the 1950s, says Obama should not visit the island while the Castro family is still in power. And Marco Rubio, another child of Cuban immigrants, has lambasted the president for visiting what Rubio calls an "anti-American communist dictatorship."
It would be the first time in nearly nine decades that a U.S. president has visited the island. The stop would be part of a broader trip to Latin America.
